We are excited to announce that we are officially matched with an expectant mother! 👶🏼

On Monday around lunchtime, we received a call that we were selected as an expectant mother's first choice. Since it was a school day, we were not together when we received this exciting news so we spent a few moments texting and chatting on the phone. As our anticipation grew, we were able to connect with our social worker that evening.

Attempting to contain our excitement, we went to school on Tuesday although our heads were spinning with questions, things to do, anxious thoughts, and pure joy! In the afternoon, we spent time talking with our expectant mother's case worker to help prepare us to meet the mother through a phone call.

Wednesday morning: We met the expectant mother on a phone call. It was an emotional and powerful moment in our journey. We were able to speak with her for about 30 minutes. We got to know more about her and her family, her interests/hobbies, her pregnancy, and the desires she has for her child.

Wednesday afternoon: Our expectant mother reported that we were a definite match for her and her baby! We signed the contracts and everything became as official as it can be at this point.

We could not be more excited for this moment! Looking back there have been little things that now make sense; like little moments that have been leading up to and preparing us to meet this family. Our hearts are so full! We feel so much love already for the expectant mother and her baby. It is surreal to think that mid-July, we could be moms and our dream of starting a family is starting to come to fruition.
